THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The central government’s directives on the 5th phase lock-down have given sanction for issues like the opening of shrines but the state government’s decision on it today. The state government has made it clear that the concession of the center would not be implemented. The central government has approved the opening of places of worship from June 8. But the decision will be taken at a high-level meeting chaired by the chief minister this afternoon.
Even if the shrines are opened to the believers, there will be restrictions on the number of people who can reach them at once. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, however, did not give a positive note. He said the need to open places of worship would be considered after the situation has improved.
