PORTLAND: Alexander Sampler, Archbishop of Portland Archdiocese of the US coastal state of Oregon, said Sunday there will be no intercession in the Holy Mass for fear of coronavirus. In a statement issued on March 12, the Metropolitan ordered the parishioners to reduce the number of people who come together to offer more sacrifices instead of abolishing the Holy Mass. The Archbishop of Oregon, Kate Brown, canceled the two-day public gathering after more than two hundred public meetings.
‘The Holy Eucharist is the source and supreme source of Christian life. Redemption, nourishment by the Word of God, and acceptance of the Blood, Spirit, and Divinity of Jesus through the sacrifice of God. The Archbishop reminded. The Metropolitan Statement also mentions certain prerequisites for attending the Holy Mass. The Bishop said that it is advisable that those who are over 60 years of age and who are suffering from some form of restlessness and lack of immunity will not attend the Holy Mass until April 8. The bishop also demanded that the clergy should try to get more people to the temples where there are fewer people.
