WASHINGTON, DC (AP) – The World’s Greatest Evangelist, Christian Apologist Ravi Zacharias is on his way to eternity. The news of death has been announced by Sara Davis, CEO, and daughter of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) via their official Facebook page. He was treated in Houston for a long time after suffering a rare and malignant cancer that affected the spinal cord.
Ravi was born in Madras, India, and was an atheist until the age of 17. During his suicide attempt, he received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord through his Bible in the hospital. In his sermons, he says that his conversion to the Christian faith took place while reading the Bible after the failed suicide attempt in his early teens. At the age of twenty, he emigrated to Canada. Zacharias began his ministry through the Christian Missionary Alliance (CMA).
He is a graduate of Ontario Bible College (now Tyndale University) and Trinity International University. He founded the Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) in 1984 and has reached tens of thousands of Christians. He was well-versed in various Christian churches, from high-minded to ordinary people, and able to give clear answers to faith-based and Bible-based questions.
His classes on eternal salvation in Jesus Christ have influenced the rulers of the world and the vast majority. He has preached in more than seventy countries and written more than thirty books during his 48-year ministry. Many of his works have become bestsellers in the United States and other world countries.
