Fr. Johnson Muthappan, a young youth of the coastal village of Pathiyoor became a priest on 20th June along with his sibling, Fr. Joy Muthappan and Fr. Shaiju Berkmans. Fr. Johnson and his brother were sent off the Sree Chithra Home for studies at the age of 10. Since then, they exhibited calibres more than average. With great potential in Football, Fr. Johnson and few of his friends from the Orphanage, set out for the football selection. However, the boys got selected to Wrestling.
At the age of 14, he became a state Champion in Box Wrestling. However the incessant practices, politics in the game and wrestling took a toll on Fr. Johnson’s studies. After demoting to 2 yrs, he sacrificed the Wrestling training in Kannur, and decided to focus on his studies. With courage and determination, the Fr. Johnson completed his studies and decided to serve the people of God. His aim was to spread the Love of Christ to all those who needed it.
