Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)
The youth of the Eparchy of Kalyan have always been the pioneers in extending their helpings hands towards the needy ones. When Kerala was hit by the unprecedented flood and heavy rainfall recently, the country stood still thinking about the measures to help the flood affected state. Support and love came from different parts of the world and the rest of the states in the nation looked upon Kerala with compassion, surprised at her unity and brotherhood. The Catholic Church played a very significant role in expressing their solidarity with the state and supported them in all the possible ways. The diocese of Kalyan prepared themselves immediately to reach till their brethren in Kerala with all their needs, reminding that they are not alone in the storm of struggle.
The young energetic hearts of the Kalyan Diocese became the noblest bridge to reach the suffering people in Kerala. The compassionate youth of the diocese arranged special adorations and prayer services for the flood affected Kerala. They also scheduled themselves to conduct various fund raising programmes and collection drives for the flood victims of Kerala and to contribute their best to rebuild and regain the hope of the state. The youth were kind enough to sacrifice their time and celebrations for the state and contributed those bits to the flood relief funds.
The Eparchy of Kalyan humbly appreciates the efforts of her children, the enthusiastic young hearts who have prepared themselves to set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
