The Holy Family Congregation is in a phase of rejoice and merriment. As the date of canonization of the foundress, Bl. Mariam Thresia Chiramel Mankidiyan nears, the sisters of the Holy Family Congregation invites the faithful to the canonization ceremony of the blessed. In an official invite, sisters say, “With profound joy and gratitude to God almighty and in union with the holy Catholic Church, in particular with the church in India and especially the Syro Malabar Church, we, the sisters of the Congregation of the Holy Family (CHF) cordially invite you to the canonization ceremony of are found blessed Mariam Thresiahresia Chiramel Mankidiyan.”

As per the Vatican schedule, the canonization ceremony would be preceded by a vigil on the 12th of October 2019 from 4 pm at the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore, Rome. The vigil will be followed by the celebration of the canonization at the Piazza San Pietro, Rome, on 13th October, 2019 from 10 am. After the culmination of the canonization process, a Thanksgiving Mass will be offered by the head of the Indian Syro Malabar Church, Major Archbishop, His Lordship Cardinal Mar George Alenchery as the main celebrant at the Basilica Sant’ Anastasia, Rome.

The invitation was issued by His eminence Majorarchbishop Cardinal Mar George Alenchery, the Archbishop of Bombay and CBCI President, His Excellency Cardinal Oswald Gracias, the Apostolic Visitator of the Syro Malabar Church in Europe, Mar Stephen Chirapanath and Mother Udaya CHF, Superior General, Congregation of the Holy Family.
