LAHORE: The eight-year anniversary of the meeting of Egyptian Sultan Malik al-Kamil and Saint Francis Assisi has been concluded in Lahore, Pakistan. In 1219, Saint Francis of Assisi visited the Egyptian sultan. Several events were held across the country to commemorate the visit. Several Christian and Muslim leaders were present at the closing ceremonies. Archbishop of Pakistan, Archbishop Christophe Zacci El-Cassis, and Lahore Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shah, local minister for human rights and minorities, Ejaz Alam Augustine, were also present.

Archbishop Christophe Zachaei said that although the Sultan and Francis Azizi met in an atmosphere of fear and danger, the two ended in peace and friendship. He also said that they can take inspiration from the example of the two in order to create peace and harmony. A few students had prepared the scene of the visit of Francis Azizi Sultan at the event.
