The feast of Mother Mary was celebrated in all the parishes across the diocese of Kalyan. Parishes conducted Eight days long Novena with utmost reverence and devotion. As appointed by the church, these days were observed as days of abstinence and prayer.
8th September is celebrated as the day of the Nativity of our Mother Mary, worldwide. On the occasion of the feast day, many parishes also observed the day as ‘Mathrudinam’. Almost all parishes held special prayers for mothers, Mathrusangam General Body Meeting and subsequent cultural programs, whereby, the youthful, energetic and talented mothers exhibited their skills and potentials in front of the masses. Mothers who have shown explicable dedication and contributed to the betterment of their respective church, were felicitated as part of encouragement.
“The mothers in our environment are perfect embodiment of mother Mary herself. Every mother is the mother of Christ”, quoted a religious, who wished to stay unidentified. Thus, the feast day of Mother Mary was a celebration to cherish for all mothers in the Diocese of Kalyan.
