The date of inauguration of the new Eparchy of Shamshabad and installation of its first Bishop His Excellency Sebastian Pozholiparampil is expected to be on November 22, 2017, in St. Antony’s Cathedral, Noothancherry, Chennai, post 2:00 pm. His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry will be the chief celebrant for the Holy Mass and the further installation ceremonies.
His Grace Sebastian Pozholiparampil was ordained a priest on 22nd December, 1982, and has served the Eparchy as Assistant parish priest at Aloor and was Rector of the Spirituality Centre, Eparchial Financial Officer, Vice Rector of the Minor Seminary, Director of Santisadanam, Director of Legion of Mary and Secretary of the Presbyteral Council.
Holy Father Pope Francis announced the new provisions on 10th October, 2017, in Rome. Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India has assured prayers and wholehearted collaboration to the newly appointed Bishop.
