Kochi: The Kerala Catholic Bishop’s Council organized a seminar on the topic, ‘communal violence induced by political intervention in the Context of Kerala’ at the Pastoral and Orientation Centre (POC), the Syro Malabar Church Headquarters in Palarivattom, Kochi. The event began in the morning at 10 am. The seminar emphasized on various questions that can be raised in the current political social and fiscal capacity of Kerala. Basically, the seminar was held to find answers to certain questions, namely, what are the evidences of Communal violence against Christian Evangelisation in the current times? And if there are any symptoms directing towards this, then what is the socio-political and financial roles of the Kerala state government?
The seminar is jointly organized by the KCBC secretariat and the United Awareness Committee. the guest speaker for the seminar was the Ex-Director General of Police, TP Senkumar IPS. The event was inaugurated by Bishop Joshua Ignatius. Other speakers include Prof. Dr. Thomaskuttu Panachikkal and Dr. Kurias Kumbalakuzhi. All members of various divisions of the KCBC participated in the event.
