Tellicherry: The Kerala Catholic Youth Movement’s archdiocesan subdivision, instituted at Tellicherry is set to execute a blanket ban on a famous multi- edition daily and it’s subsequent media outlets, on the allegation that it defies the sanctity of the religious in the country. The campaign named ‘Ma-Nishada’ (Stop You Barbarian! ) started on September 8th, 2019 against the newspaper.
“We too want to live in peace in society. Our mothers and sisters want to walk with heads held high and live their faith with dignity,” said the statement given by the officials to the Press.
The movement strongly protests against the obnoxious article published in the newspaper, that quoted the price for catholic religious women. The officials said that the newspaper deserves no mercy after the kind of attacks they have had on the women of their community. They said, We were composed when you attacked our Church and its institutions and stabbed our faith. This was not because we don’t know how to react, but that is not what our faith has taught us,”
“Oh you myopic yellow journal, do you know only one Lily (name changed)? There are 7,000 ‘Mother Teresas’ engaged in acts of mercy in many institutions. Don’t you see them? Did you intentionally ignore them when your black ink projected Lily as the face of the religious?”, questioned one of the officials during the press conference.
Following the Boycott announcements, the catholic youth from the region have majorly declared that they won’t allow the newspaper and its supplementaries to enter the household or the organisations through any medium.
