His Eminence Cardinal Luis Antonio of Philippine, during his speech in annual Philippine Conference on New Evangelization, encouraged the faithful in the country to be the signs of love, light and hope in the midst of the ongoing clashes in the country between the government and the terror gunmen. His Lordship Cardinal Antonio conveyed the significance of unity between the Christians and Muslims to maintain peace in the country.
As reported ucanews.com, His Eminence Cardinal Antonia asserted that “Whoever plans to divide Muslims and Christians will not triumph.” Further, His Lordship added, “The attempts by Islamic State inspired terrorists to make the conflict look like a war between religions will not succeed because Muslims and Christians in the country are helping each other.”
Cardinal Luis Antonio concluded his briefing by reminding that “Muslim-Christian understanding and unity in Mindanao will serve as the foundation for change and reconstruction of society in Marawi (Philippine).”
